We LOVE hard-boiled eggs in our house. It’s a super easy staple to have on hand throughout the week for healthy, no-fuss snacks. They also make quick and easy lunches for kids when you’re low on time!

The WORST part about hard-boiled eggs is peeling them. There is nothing worse than trying to peel an egg and having the shell disintegrate into a million little pieces you then have to pick off individually.

This method takes that pain away! Every time I use this method, the peel comes right off!

Plus, making them in the instant pot is fast and simple and always yields consistent results.

Instructions for Making Easy Peel Hard-Boiled Eggs in the Instant Pot

  1. Get your instant pot out and insert the metal rack that comes with.

  2. Add as many eggs as you would like (I’ve cooked up to a dozen at a time in my instant pot!).

  3. Add 1 cup of water.

  4. Close the lid and set it to sealing.

  5. Set it to Pressure Cook for 5 minutes.

  6. Note: The Instant Pot may take 5-10 minutes to come to pressure, then the 5 minutes will begin.

  7. Once the 5 minutes is up, let it naturally release for 5 more minutes, then release the steam by setting it to Venting.

  8. Once the steam has been released and the pin has come down, remove the eggs and place them into a container with ICE WATER. This step is super important (I believe it is what makes the eggs easy to peel!).

  9. Let the eggs cool for 10 minutes or so, drain the water, and store in the fridge until ready to eat!
